- The painting shows ships in the harbour, including a Dutch East Indiaman firing a salute. This ship flies the VOC flag of Amsterdam
- an 'A' is discernible with the VOC logo underneath. Near this ship a sloop with senior officials, and left in the foreground a native foil.
- Compare RP-P-OB-47.339, which is identical but lacks a title.
- Was originally included in a book and has two vertical folds.
