- The forging of a new trade agreement between the VOC and the rulers of Timor.
- After the agreement had been clinched there was a festive banquet organised by Johannes Paravicini.Paravicini was a VOC commissioner who was instructed by the Company to persuade the rulers of Timor and the surrounding islands to forge a treaty barring outside merchants from the region. In this way trade with other nations (the VOC was particularly concerned about the Portuguese) was forbidden.
