- Map of Pernambuco and Tamarica.
- <Pernambuca / I. Tamarica>.
- Between 1630 and 1654 large parts of Brazil were occupied by the Dutch. During this period the area was mapped by the cartographers Cornelis Goliath (died in 1667/1668) and Georg Marcgraf. In 1643 they rendered the results of these mapping activities in an attractive wall chart. Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) published this atlas chart based on their map in 1662.
- A large number of East Indiamen is depicted off the coast.
- This map may be linked to the following charts: Koninklijke Bibliotheek, The Hague, inv. nr. 1049B13_094; Ibid, inv. nr. 1049B13_096; Ibid, inv. nr. 1049B13_097.
- The map was previously published in: C. Barlaeus, Rerum per octennium in Brasilia, Amsterdam 1647.
- The key in the banderole is explicated using symbols.
