Fort

Harderwijk, fort

Fort Harderwijk was a wooden fortification, built around 1630 at the south coast of Ceram on the orders of the governor of Ambon, Philip Lucasz. In roughly the same location, a stone fort was erected in 1860, of which, however, no remains survive. The location indicated here is approximate.
