J.G. Loten and his party fishing on the Negombo river in Ceylon.

View of a river with several boats and anglers. Some of the anglers stand waist deep in the water. A large net has been spanned between poles, and next to is a rowboat with a canopy, a richly decorated mirror and a large Dutch flag with pennant. On the riverbank to the right are three cows, while the other banks are overgrown with bushes.

On an accompanying sheet: J.G. Loten and his Company & C. fishing in the River of Nigombo in Ceylon, in or about the Jear 1754 door de Bevere op de plaats zelve.
