Kartasura, walls of

The walls around the kraton of Kartasura were built in 1697 and consist of a Cipari, or inner wall, and a Baluwarti, or outer wall. The Cipari encloses an area of 184 by 127 meters, is two meters thick and three to four meters high, and almost entirely intact. The Baluwarti has been only partially preserved.
