This map shows land of the Society of Suriname (indicated in bold font) which primarily lays on the north bank (above on the map) of the Cottica river.

The survey was done for the purpose of a possible sale of the land.

The plot of land is situated between the plantations of Sir Middelhof and W.Bedlo as well as the plantations named Bokkenstein and Nieuw Java.

The plantation of W. Bedlo also encompasses a corner to the west (left on the map) of the Cottica River which is indicated by a dotted line.

Other nearby plantations are: Heerenveen and Haagenbos.

The map was signed by the surveyor on 19 August 1782 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 100 Chains of Rhineland feet = 108 ‘strepen’.
