Map of the land of Mr. Lippert

Lavaux, Alexander de

Title Leupe: Kaart van een stuk land, gesubstraheert van de Plantagie Vlucht en Trouw.

This map demarcates a piece of land of Mr. Lippert (green borders, indicated with the letters A-F) on the south bank (above on the map) of the Cottica river.

The survey was made on request of Albertus Lippert, who had recently obtained the piece of land.

The lot turns out to measure 300 Surinamese acres (129 hectares).

The lot lies east of the land of Sir Cley, and west of the Vruchtentrouw plantation.

The border mark of the land belonging to Lemmers and Van der Kolk is drawn north of the Cottica river.

The map was signed by the surveyor on 7 May 1732 and ratified on 30 May 1732 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 100 Chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 130 ‘strepen’.

Taken from: [OBP Suriname], 1732 [fols.] 1098-1099.
