The king of Calicut receives the Dutch

A view of the beach at Calicut, showing soldiers to the left and on the right three sailing vessels. The soldiers in the foreground left are Dutch, behind them are troops allied to the Samorin of Calicut, who is depicted shaking the hand of the Dutch commander. The left-most sailing vessel flies a flag featuring five horizontal bands and a flag with a cross at its top.

According to the index of 'Begin ende Voortgang', the illustration is entitled: In wat maniere hy de Hollanders ontfangt.
