Tjepara should not be confused with Jepara, a bigger city east of Semarang. The Tjepara referred to here was situated in the immediate vicinity of Batavia and was a small VOC post that is only mentioned a few times in the land muster-rolls. Where it is mentioned, the records indicated that only a single VOC employee was stationed there.
