This is the frontispiece of Journael vande reyse der Hollandtsche schepen ghedaen in Oost Indien from 1598, in which the first voyage is documented. Top left: Bantam Urbis gubernator dictus kipati-.

Top right: Nauare Sus Maijor.

The vessels are labelled by name.

The fleet set sail from Texel, but that is not the harbour depicted here.

To the left of the vessels, the Portuguese governor of Bantam is shown.

The figures from the bottom illustration are repeated in depictions elsewhere in the volume.
