De Goutkust Afgeteeckent, door Last van den E. Heer Admirael Michiel de Ruijter, in den Jaare. 1666. van de Cabo tres Puntes, tot oudt Coromentijn.
The chart depicts De Ruyters' campaign against the English in January 1665 during the Second English War. In 1664 the English had captured a number of forts along the West African coast and elsewhere from the Dutch and De Ruyter largely succeeded in recapturing them.
The map was drawn in 1666 and was copied somewhere between 1666 and 1668, probably in Johannes Vingboons' studio.
The plate is taken from the Blaeu-Van der Hem Atlas.
