Map of lots of Mr. Krayvanger

Lavaux, Alexander de

Title Leupe: Kaart van eenige stukken land, gelegen tusschen de Plantagien L'Avanture en Twyfelachtig.

This map shows two lots belonging to Sir Krayvanger (red borders, indicated with the letters a-d and i-m) and the land of the heirs of Sir Hermans Parisson (green borders, indicated with the letters e-h) laying north of the Cottica River (top side of the map).

The survey was requested by Sir Frederik Krayvanger after he obtained the western lot on 29 January 1721 and bought the eastern one from the heirs of Sir Parisson.

The western lot turns out to measure 500 Surinamese acres (215 hectares) and the eastern 333 1/3 (143,3 hectares).

Adjacent are the Twyfelachtig and Kleine Hoop plantations (to the west), and another part of the Twyfelachtig and the L'Avanture plantation (to the east).

The map was signed by the land surveyor on 28 March 1733 and ratified on 11 September 1733 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 100 Chains of 66 Rhineland rods = 135 ‘strepen’.
