Map of the Kleinhoop plantation and adjacent plantations

Böhm, Johann Gottfried Rabanus / Gosseky, J.C.

Title Leupe: Kaart van een stuk land, daarneven gelegen (rechts in 't opvaren).

This map shows the Kleinhoop plantation, with its new hinterland (H-P), both located to the north of the Cottica River.

Sir Godenaar and J.W. Kennedy, administers of the plantation, as well as Sir P. Wintwort, the owner, requested the survey after obtaining the hinterland on 9 April 1764.

The hinterland turns out to measure 384 1/11 Surinamese acres (165,16 hectares).

In addition, an as yet uncultivated lot (B-G, Q and R) has been measured as being 257 Surinamese acres (110,5 hectare), and was assigned to A.W. Wolff on 25 May 1754.

The latter piece of land had already been incorrectly measured by J.E. Feltman in 1754.

This map is a copy made in 1802.

The original map is signed on 22 November 1766.

Scale of 100 Chains of Rhineland = 123 ‘strepen’.
