Drawing of a 24-pounder

Title Leupe: Teekening van een yzer Canon à 24 pond op zyn affuyt, op de Fortres Nieuw Amsterdam.

This 24-pounder is designed for the fort of Nieuw-Amsterdam. The sub-Lieutenant Joseph Tilhenn of the artillery drew the design and considering nearly all his maps date between 1791 and 1795, this drawing is likely from that period as well. The bore, rings, knob and limber correspond to the late eighteenth century standards.
