Bernhardi, Heinrich Ludwig Ditloff
Title Leupe: Kaart van twee stukken land, geleegen aan de rivier Saramacca aan de Linker hand in het opvaren. No. 70 en 72.
This map shows a parcel along the Saramacca River belonging to the underage children of the free Nanette van Oeklers. As can be read in the annotation, G.H. Link requested the survey for them. The extent of the lots turns out to be 1000 Surinamese acres (430 hectares). This map was signed on 1 November 1802 and acknowledged on 2 December May 1802.
The opening up of plantations along this river commenced in 1790, at the instigation of newly appointed Governor Juriaan François de Friderici.
Scale-bar of 200 chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 245 ‘strepen’.
