This "excellently productive" coffee plantation was managed by W.A. Steenbergen and W.H. Saffin. halfway the eighteenth century.
On 20 May 1885 the forestry expert Justus Wilhelm Gonggryp was born there.
It is now a neighbourhood of the city of Paramaribo.
