Design for a cistern

Tilhenn, Joseph

Title Leupe: Plan en profielen van een regenbak (te Paramaribo?)

This design for rain-pipes is likely related to the urban development occuring in Paramaribo in the second half of the eighteenth century. It is unkown, however, to which building these profiles and ground plan belong. The plan was probably included in the report on the defences of the colony sent by J.G.R. Böhm to governor Wichers in 16 April 1791. On the rearside it reads: "No.23, Register 17, part 1, folio 90’ and marked Depôt des cartes, plans et journaux de la Marine.

Scale-bar ± 1 : 20 or 5 Rhineland feet on 3 ‘duim’.
