Noessanive

Indonesia

Nussa Nieve was a native village on Ambon's southern cape, and one of the first kingdoms in Amboina. The rise of Islam on the island dated from the earliest days of the VOC presence in Ambon, a tendency the Company sought to stamp out. Just as it had done in the villages of Alang and Hutumuri, the Company drove the Islamic population out of Nussa Nieve to the other side of the bay, where the people founded new villages.
