This anonymous 1780 design relates to the proposed construction of a separate sick barracks in the hospital in Gravenstraat for the slaves of the Surinam Society and the Government. On the 1793 plan on VELH614 this is indicated by the letter (G), ‘the Negroes’ and Convalescents’ Building’.
