Fort

Saboga, fort

Indonesia

Fort Saboga was in all probability originally built by the Portguese. The VOC took possession of it in 1608, but lost it to the Spaniards in 1611, in their conflict over control of the Moluccas. When the Spaniards left the Moluccas in 1663, the VOC retook possession of the fort, but abandoned it soon after.
