The Plantation Voorburg, east of the Surinam River

Anoniem / Anonymous

Title Leupe: Le Plantage Voorborg à l'Est de la Riviere Surinam etc.

Two French-language legends numbered 1-14 (top left) and A-Z (top right). On the bottom left an inscription about the fort.

This map shows the Voorborg plantation.

Canals, fields, buildings and gardens are depicted on the map and described in the two French legends, one of which also contains the amount of Surinam acres (1,06 present-day acres) and crops grown on them.

The fort northwest of the plantation (bottom of the map) can be recognized by the partially depicted bastion.

The Surinam river runs west (right side of the map) of both this fortress and plantation.

The relief of the unused parts of the plantation is indicated through pencil brushes.

Trees are drawn all over this area to indicate its untouched state.

The names of the adjacent plantations Zoelen and Susanadaal are included to show Voorborg’s borders.

Scale of 30 chains of 66 Rhineland rods = 180 ‘strepen'
