The WIC conquers Portuguese sugar ships in All Saints' Bay, 1627.

The WIC fleet that captured these sugar vessels was really out to capture the treasure fleet, but due to circumstances beyond their control they could not even begin an attack. Commander Piet Heyn subsequently decided to set course for All Saints' Bay, where the fleet captured a number of sugar vessels.

This illustration likely comes from: I. Commelin, Frederick Hendrick van Nassauw prince van Orangien [...], Amsterdam 1651.

The inventory numbers FM 1561 and RP-P-OB-79.380 refer to the same copy of this print.
