The king of Tuban, seated on an elephant, receives the fleet commanded by Van Warwijck and Van Heemskerck.

Dit is so den Coninck van Tuban ons opt strant met syn volck tegen quam op synen Olyphant, doen wy met onse twee schuyten aen Lant quamen, daer wy hem met Trompetten gheluyt lustig maecten, alles na tleven fyguerlick afgeteeckent.

Rex Tubantij cunetorum Javanensium Regum potentisimus est, numeroq Nobilium et Militum ijsdem antecellit: Praedationibus ut plurimum intontus & occupatus, [?] usui navigia plurima mari continuo parata et instructa habet: Regnum ejus Orrieae [?].

Le Roij recoit en bienviegnant les hollandois au dehors de sa ville de Tuban. -The second Dutch expedition to the Indies, led by Jacob van Neck and Wijbrant van Warwijck, set sail from the Dutch Republic in May 1598 and arrived in Bantam, on West Java, towards the end of that same year. From Bantam, four vessels sailed on to the Moluccas, under the command of Wijbrant van Warwijck and Jacob van Heemskerck. En route, they passed East Java, where they were received at the court of the ruler of Tuban.
