Rach, Johannes

View of Bato Tulis near Buitenzorg; three statues, arms folded near a sacrificial site.

These statues were mounted on the western bank of the Ciliwung river. They are the remains of the Pajajaran kingdom. Several people were said to have been turned to stone after refusing to convert to Islam. Anno 2002 the statues are still to be seen at Jl. Batu Tulis, in the south of Bogor.

The stones were a popular tourist attraction for Rach's contemporaries
