Coastline profiles of the atoll Diego Garcia, Chagos Archipel

In November of 1598, the Vriesland, part of the Second Expedition (Tweede Schipvaart) of to the East Indies, sailed past the atoll Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, part of the Chagos Archipelago. In his journal helmsman Heyndrick Dirrecksen Jolinck describes the atoll as being full of trees and greenery and drew this coastline profile when the leftmost point of the drawing was at 4 miles distance in north by east direction.
