A bird's eye view of a fleet of ships. The prows of the sailing vessels pictured centre are pointed left. Top right several vessels lie at anchor before the coast of Bantam. Bottom right several vessels with cannons firing on several ships of which the sails are only partially visible.
The print forms part of a series of three (RP-P-OB-75.312, RP-P-OB-75.313, RP-P-OB-75.314) and a page of a text with the key (FM-1172) that begins: Verclaringhe vanden ghedenckvaerdigen scheeps-strijt tussschen vijf Hollandsche schepen, ende de groote Armade der portugesen, in het ghesicht der stadt Bantam
At the bottom of page the text reads: By Cornelis Claesz. Boec-vercooper op t' Y Vater in 't Schrijf-boeck, Anno, 1608.
This print bears the names: Alardi en Cloppenburgh, accompanied by the note dedicarunt.
