Map of the waters between Ceram and Australia.

The southeastern coast, which is indicated as Nova Guinea is Australia's Cape York peninsula. But the crew of the Duijfken thought that the coast they discovered was linked to the previously known New Guinea.

The map is taken from the Blaeu-Van der Hem Atlas.

The chart was drawn in 1605 by Willem Jansz., Jan Lodewijcksz. van Roossengin partly after Abraham Francken and Jasper Jansz. de Jonge on a voyage of discovery to the unknown Zuidland (South Land). The map was copied between 1665 and 1668, probably in the studio of Johannes Vingboons.
