The cattle post Vissershoek was situated on the Dieprivier, a few kilometres northeast of the post at Bommelshok. Pieter van Dam, who recorded the history of the VOC around 1701, notes that in the year 1693 the post was manned by two Company employees and a slave. The post had a flock of 836 sheep.
