A bird's eye view map of the bay at Ambon, with ships. In the foreground several people are depicted on land, of whom four carry weapons. One strolls along with a parasol, whilst in the centre a woman with a bowl of fruit is shown. In the background an elongated island with several buildings and the place name: Malem. Next to it a further three islands called: Noesan, Thoha en Ialau.

Key: letters A-E, without explanatory text; this is contained in 'Begin ende Voortgang': D. Den Admirael van de Zee; E. Haer Galeyen ofte Caracoras.

According to the index of 'Begin ende Voortgang' the pcture is titled: Het Eylant Ambona.
