View of the Portuguese Buitenkerk, or outer church, on Batavia, since renamed the Gereja Sion and situated on the Jl. Pangeran Jayakarta.
The church, which was intended to serve Portuguese-speaking Christians, was opened in 1695. In 2002 it ranks as the oldest building in Jakarta still being used for its original purpose.
