View of the fort at Ancol from the north, five kilometres west of Batavia. The fort is situated at the end of the Antjolse Vaart, now (in 2002) renamed Ancol Dreamland.

The road from which the picture has been drawn leads left to the Slingerland estate.

The fort is square with four bastions. Flanking the right-hand bastion is a clocktower. A drawbridge offers access to the fort.
