This map contains a draft for new construction work between the Suriname and the Saramacca river to the northwest of Paramaribo.

Among others, a canal will be dug from the Suriname river to the Oranje Creek.

This creek is connected to the Saramacca river.

The canal is underlined with a green colour.

A dotted red line is drawn from the Suriname river to the Saramacca one, next to which is written: Passage from the Forest of Suriname to Saramacca measures 2589 Chains

A cartouche is drawn at the bottom right.

In it, a profile of the river and the adjacent land can be found.

Scale of 1000 Chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 218 'strepen'[ca. 1 : 96.000] / [profile] 230 Rhineland feet: = [ca. 1 : 520].
