Depicted is a single-storey house and outhouses such as stables. There are several pieces of land adjoined to the house. Brandes lived here from June 7, 1780 until leaving Batavia on August 26, 1785.

A carriage with a passenger and a pajong-bearer behind drives along the road running past the house.
