Map of lots along the Cottica River

Title Leupe: Kaart van de Plantagien, gelegen tusschen Ephrata en Paramarica Kreek.
This map shows several lots along the the Cottica river.
The survey is primarily meant to map the as yet uncultivated hinterland of the Beekvliedt plantation, in order for this to be added to this plantation.
The hinterland of the Beekvliedt plantation (indicated with the letters J, K, O, P, Q, S and Z) turns out to measure 94 ½ Surinamese acres (40,6 hectares).
Similar unused hinterlands are indicated around the Onverwagdt plantation (coloured yellow).
Also see VEL1926 which is similar to this map but only shows the lots on the north side of the river.
The map was signed by the land surveyor on 25 April 1798.
Scale of 140 Chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 172 ‘strepen’.
