Map of the L. Mastrouge plantation

Freuytenier, Jan

Title Leupe: Kaart van de plantagien, tusschen Rietwyk, Timotibo en de Vrede.

This map shows the plantations Nieuwe Timotibo, De Vrede, L. Mastrouge, Sorbo, and Rietwijk as well as the lot belonging to Bapderiba; which all lay on the Perica, Bottel and Huijsmand creeks.

The survey concerns the L. Mastrouge plantation (indicated by the letters A-N) of which the south most part (A-D, left on the map) was granted to the plantation owner on 22 September 1730 by the Governor-General.

The new piece of land turns out to measure 500 Surinamese acres (215 hectares).

The map was signed by the land surveyor on 28 June 1732 and ratified on 10 Octobe 1732 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 100 Chains of 5 ½ Rhineland rods = 120 ‘strepen’.

Taken from: [OBP Suriname] 1732, [fols.] 1072-1073.
