This is one of the prints contained in the pilot publication of the 'Atlas der Geschiedenissen van onzen Tyd'. After this initial test publication, the series was discontinued.

During the Fourth Anglo-Dutch War (1780-1784) the WIC lost St Eustatius to the English. The French recaptured the island. At the Peace of Paris the island was returned to the Republic, along with the other West Indian possessions.
