Map of a lot from the Bruynsburg plantation

de Lavaux, Alexander

Title Leupe: Kaart van het vierde gedeelte van de Plantagie Bruynsburg.

This map shows the survey of one lot of the Bruynsburg plantation.

The owner, Sir Pimper, appears to have requested the survey himself.

The extent of the lot turns out to be 375 Surinamese acres (161.25hectares) and it is located southeast (top of the map) of the Commewijne river.

The borders of the lot are indicated with the letters: L, M, N, O, P, Q, R.

De Lavaux signed the map on 29 May 1732 and it was ratified on 3 June 1732.

The lot lays south (right on the map) from the piece of land of Paulus Pieterson as well as the Utrecht plantation and north (left on the map) from the estate of Cornelis de Bruin as well as the Concordia plantation.

Scale of 100 Chains of 66 Rhineland Feet= 123 ‘strepen’.
