Map of the Sint Jan Plantation

Cederkreutz, Christiaan T. Frederik

Title Leupe: Caart van alle nieuwe als oude gronden in de beneedenste gedeelte van Rio Canie.

Map of the Sint Jan Plantation owned by the Amsterdam resident Volkmaar and located to the east of the Canje River.

The lots turns out to measure 500 Surinamese acres (that is 215 hectares).

The Don Phillip plantation lies to the south of this plantation, the Ongegundt Plantation to its north.

This is a decorated version of the map catalogued as VEL1604, in a style typical of mapmaker Christiaan Cederkreutz. This map also has an added red-coloured table with new information on the crops grown on the plantation.

The original map was signed on 28 January 1769.

North is left.
