Titel Leupe : Kaart van de geprojecteerde doorsnyding tusschen de rivieren Suriname en Saramacca (ter hoogte van de redout Purmerend).

This map shows the draft for the area between the Suriname and Saramacca river which lays northwest of Paramaribo.

This plan includes the construction of a canal running between the river Suriname and the Oranje Creek, which connects to the Saramacca river.

This canal is underlined with the colour green on this map.

A dotted green line has been drawn from the Suriname river to the Saramacca one, next to which is written: Passage through the Forest of Suriname to Saramacca measures 2589 [Rhineland] Chains.

At the bottom right of the map a cartouche is drawn, in which a profile of the canal and the adjacent land is depicted.
